First of all, binge eating is considered a disorder, it’s characterized by these things:
- Eating a large amount of food very quickly until feeling discomfort.
- Felling of loss of control during the binge.
- After the binge, you may experience shame.
- Eating a large amount of food while not feeling hungry.
It sounds really scary and unhealthy thing and you may ask yourself how can I fix it.
But, by the end of this post, you’ll be able to answer How to Stop Binge Eating
and most importantly,
Don’t worry, you are not alone and I’m here for you!
How I struggled with binge eating.
In my case, the Binge Eating started at a very young age.
I can remember that I been sneaking to the kitchen and been eating as many candies as I could put in my mouth, I always tried to eat a lot as faster is possible and I had more bad habits like these.
As I grew up, those habits became much worse, some of them are:
- Eating quietly at night so nobody will hear me.
- Strong urge to eat even though I’m not hungry.
- Excessive thinking about food.
- Struggle to eat the number of calories that I should eat (Because I wanted to eat more).
3 Years ago, I decided that I have to make a change with those horrible habits.
Let’s see
How to stop binge eating
I want to note that it might be really tough to stop binge eating.
It took me more than a half year to stop binge eating,
Just remember why you have started and what is your goal if you struggle to keep going.
After this short introduction, those are the best 5 ways that helped me to stop binge eating totally:
Inspirational/motivational quotes.
As you may know already, inspirational quotes are my favorite way to keep being motivated.
It’s so easy to find some good inspirational quotes that will give you the power to keep going.
I’ve made a great post that combines my favorite quotes to keep going on your weight-loss journey, so make sure to check them out right here.
Start meditating and doing yoga.
This one is really important!
Meditation and Yoga will help you to manage your thoughts and urges.
Meditation change me so much,
I become much calmer, less stuck in my head, and started to live the “Moment” (Click here for more information about how It helped me and how I started).
All of that helped me to progress dramatically with my process of stop binge eating.
Count calories.
Ok, most of you might be intimidating by these pair of words,
BUT, trust me there is nothing scary or hard.
Counting calories will make you persistent with your progress, it trains your brain to not stop in the middle of a process, and on top of that, you’ll become the manager of your body and weight.
You might ask yourself,
What do you mean by becoming the manager of my weight?
I mean that you’ll decide how much you want to eat (You don’t need to starve or train all day long), you’ll be able to manage what you eat and how much you eat from that in order to stay in your caloric range and so much more!
It sounds like the ideal thing, doesn’t it?
I really encourage you to give it a try, because it helped me to lose more than 55 pounds while stopping binge eating.
If you would like to hear a bit more about that,
Check this freebie right NOW, I’ll describe there exactly how to start counting calories, how to really master it, so you’ll become fit while eating the food that you like and you’ll get a 14-day challenge to rocket boost your results!
Spread the food nicely on your plate.
That one is my favorite psychological trick.
I’d recommend you to spread the food all over your plate so it’ll look like you have a lot of food there.
You’ll trick your mind that you eat more food than you actually did, so you won’t want to eat more recently.
Find your hobbies and do them, so you won’t think only about food (sports).
For me, the excessive thoughts about food and eating caused mostly because I hadn’t any hobbies except for playing computer games.
In order to stop this horrible habit, you should find what you are passionate about and start doing it.
The hobby doesn’t have to be complicated or something totally unique.
I found my hobbies by meditating, after few months of meditation, I started revealing what I passionate about, what I like to do.
These are my hobbies; you may take inspiration for them:
- Meditating.
- Traveling.
- Listen to music.
- Programming.
- Socializing.
- Count calories (It actually becomes a hobby for me).
- Learning new things and always try to make myself better.
That’s it for today,
I hope that these ways will help you to start your Yoga path and let me know how it’s going for you.
Love y’all and I’m sure you’ll able to go throw any obstacle.
